What is the best snack for a movie?

Now that your outdoor cinema has been booked, you know what you're going to watch, and your guests have been invited, what will you serve for something to eat?

Choosing the best snack for a movie night can be very subjective, depending on the movie and the people watching. However, We've thought of a few quick and simple snack ideas (That we personally think are the best) that you can create without making too much mess, although we can't totally guarantee that!

And FYI, you can adapt any of these snack suggestions to suit the tastes and dietary needs of your guests, making sure they all have something yummy to munch on during their garden cinema experience.

So here it goes, the first idea is the quintessential cinema snack:

What snack is better than popcorn!

PopCorn CInema Snack

As clique as it may seem, we would be wrong to not list popcorn as one of the best cinema snacks ! We’ve been tucking into popcorn at the movies for nearly 100 years! Can you believe that? It knocked us off our chairs, that’s for sure.

You can serve your popcorn straight from the pan, microwave or packet – it's super simple, or you go all gourmet on your guests. We can even provide popcorn making machines at your request, so you don’t have to travel far to your kitchen. Make mountains of popcorn within our marquee or bell tent cinema packages. Check out these recipes for traditional and savoury popcorn ideas.

Best foods to eat in a garden cinema experience excluding popcorn?

Nachos cinema sharing snack

Cheese toasties – or other fillings. Mmmmm, there’s nothing quite like a toasty that oozes with cheese. That crispy crunch of perfectly toasted bread and lava hot cheese that strings away with every bite. We’ve had to seek out an outrageously delicious recipe from Jamie Oliver as it is simply divine, however other recipes are available – and did you know, you can make a toasty in your Air Fryer too. We love this!

Alternatively, you can build cheese, vegetable, and meat kebabs by twisting up fruit skewers in place of the cheeseboard. These are much easier to eat, and each bite is a delightful treat for your taste buds. The children might like these, and adults, well, these antipasto kebabs might be more appealing. They can also be popped into wrap to make a filling meal.

🌮 Nachos, nachos, we all scream for nachos!! Why not build your own nacho bar with tortilla chips, cheese, salsa, guacamole, and sour cream? Add to this some crispy homemade potato chips seasoned with different spices or flavoured salts.

🌭Hot dogs – these conjure up childhood memories for most, and provide an easy, quick, simple and filling meal. Hot dogs can be made veggie and vegan too, so everyone can eat the same meal.

🍪If you’re searching for something a little sweeter, these little treats will leave your guests wanting more. And what's even better is that they don’t even need to be baked. We think coconut almond cookies will become a staple of the snack cupboard – naturally the almonds can be swapped for another ingredient if any of your guests have allergies.

What are healthy snacks for watching films?

Cookie Walnut bake

Fruit Skewers

Fruit skewers offer a refreshing and healthy snack option. These can be pre-made, or if your party is for children, you can leave them to make their own. Simply provide an assortment of fresh fruit, wooden skewers and off you go. Check out this colourful arrangement of skewers!

Pizza Pittas

The combination of pizza and movies is as classic. However after seeing the amount of calories in a single domino’s pizza lately, we have been loving these pizza pittas as an alternative. Instead of completely avoiding pizza this pitta pizza recipe is an incredible way to enjoy a movie night without the guilty of an unhealthy option looming over your head.

Chicken and Pepper Pizza Pittas

or the vegan alternative!

Red onion, courgette and pepper pitta
