The buildup has begun to the 2024 BRIT’s
Late last year, the music world witnessed a thrilling revelation as The Last Dinner Party was crowned the winner of the 2024 BRITs Rising Star award. This accolade marked a significant milestone for the emerging talents behind The Last Dinner Party, propelling them into the spotlight and setting the stage for what promises to be an extraordinary musical journey.
In a dazzling display of excitement and anticipation, the Brit Awards' nominees for 2024 were recently unveiled during the "Bring on the BRITS" exclusive livestream, this will be available on their YouTube channel for you to put on our projectors effortlessly. The awards were presented by the dynamic Yinka Bokinni.
This year's nominee list reads like a who's who of the music industry's elite. From the chart-topping Dua Lipa to the legendary Blur, the diverse array of nominees spans genres and generations. Other notable contenders include Chase and Status, Dave, Lewis Capaldi, The Rolling Stones, Stormzy, Miley Cyrus, Burna Boy, and the record-breaking Raye. Notably, Raye has achieved a remarkable feat by actually been nominated for 7 awards, the most ever in the history of the BRITS!
How do I Vote at the BRIT awards?
Voting for the winners of the following five genre awards—Alternative/Rock Act, Dance Act, Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap Act, Pop Act, and the newest category, R&B Act—is only available on Instagram as a result of a new partnership between The BRITs and Meta. The BRIT's social accounts will open on February 1st and close on February 15th so head over to @BRITs to find out more!
There are two ways that you can get involved with voting on social media, while watching at home. With each act receiving their own corresponding hashtags.
Voting by comment:
To participate in the voting process, fans have the opportunity to engage on the Brits Instagram page starting on February 1st. Once the voting window opens, dedicated Reel posts for each of the five categories, along with a prominently placed carousel post, will be featured.
To cast your vote, simply locate the relevant category post and drop a comment featuring the designated hashtag for your chosen artist. For instance, if you're rooting for the Best Alternative/Rock Act, locate the corresponding post and express your support by commenting with the Brits-specific hashtag, such as #BRITsVoteBMTH.
Each comment serves as a valuable vote, allowing fans to actively contribute to the recognition of their favourite artists.
Vote by Instagram reel:
Alternatively, you can exercise their voting power by crafting a Reel on Instagram. The brief video should tag the official Brits account and incorporate the designated hashtag corresponding to the chosen act.
For the vote to be officially registered, the Reel must be shared through a public profile. Each Reel submission in this format will contribute a substantial five votes towards the artist's standing in the competition.
Alternatively, you can vote through the BRIT Awards app.
